school for her graduate degree in Clinical Social Work to pursue her desire to
help people transform their lives.
In more recent years, Sheri's professional focus and passion are the
developing fields of Positive Psychology and Professional Coaching. Her
approach to psychotherapy and coaching is grounded in both her background as a
psychotherapist (LCSW) and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT).
Sheri brings to her practice a unique blend of creative insight and pragmatic
wisdom. Sheri supports her clients in positive and future focused work and
in this respect has acted as a "natural" coach for almost her entire career.
Her belief that, "we can achieve whatever we desire," makes the new
field of coaching a natural addition to her practice and personal style.

Her specialties include:
•Overview of Approach•
Traditional counseling models often focus on the pathology of the human experience. Labeling and diagnosis was seen as the way to help “treat a patient,” thus shifting the power away from the person to the therapist or psychiatrist.
The approaches I use are based on humanistic theoretical models, which invite and inspire a co-creative process, where power and hierarchy no longer exist. I draw from Transpersonal psychology, Humanistic psychology, Carl and Dr. Natalie Rogers model of Client-Centered Therapy, Positive Psychology and the Expressive Arts.
Each of these models in their own way believes in the power of the individual to call on their innate resources, to uncover, identify, and replace false core beliefs, so they may reach their full and desired potential.
These models do not “fix what ails us,” they invite us to explore our rich inner landscape, and to view current issues as challenges that are part of a unique growth opportunity. These models utilize an intuitive and create approach, orienting the individual to self-awareness, leading them to live full and passionate lives.
In her practice, Sheri weaves together these theoretical models, creative expression, myth and storytelling, with the art of mentorship and coaching, to support women's on-going personal and professional transformations.

•Using the Expressive Arts to move through life’s challenges•
Have you ever found yourself in a new therapeutic environment talking about the same things over and over again, wondering why you never get past the blocks? One reason is because we are utilizing only one part of our brain when attempting to problem solve, the linear-intellectual part of our brain.
Because one side of the brain controls the linear-intellectual knowing (the left side) and the other our creative-intuitive knowing (the right side), one can assume that information can be accessed in many different ways to support our potential for growth and personal transformation. By engaging both parts of our brain, we are able to tap into our inner wisdom, the place where our own intuitive knowing lives. Imagine what it would be like to have a full range of access to both intellectual and intuitive awareness?
By combining a blend of traditional therapeutic techniques, as well as expressive arts, and Sheri’s Journal From The Heart™ process, you will awaken your creative-intuitive knowing. This will allow you to move through and past the blocks that have kept you stuck in old patterns and habituated ways of thinking. The creative process allows you to enrich your therapeutic experience by activating an unconscious dream-like state. In fact, Sheri often uses this process to help people understand their dreams so the natural language of the unconscious is revealed.
